Create for a Cause: A Digital Contest for Good
New Yahoo! – Ad Council contest showcases new “Tandem” mail ads and lets creativity soar, for good
Today at Advertising Week’s ANA Agency/Client Forum, the Yahoo! Agency Team and the Ad Council kick off “Create for a Cause: A Digital Contest for Good.”
This digital contest is open exclusively to creative agencies that have a current digital Ad Council campaign—pro-bono ads created through the Ad Council to support charitable and public service causes. Agencies will compete to win millions of impressions on Yahoo! Mail and across Yahoo! That’s more than $750,000 worth of impressions on Yahoo! for their cause.
The challenge for agencies is to create an Ad Council digital campaign—either reworking an existing campaign or creating a whole new one—using new ad units that will be running on Yahoo! Mail called Tandem, with the possibility of reaching as many as 32 million daily users. The winner will be the agency whose campaign most creatively and effectively uses Tandem’s capabilities, which have a unique, synched execution on the Yahoo! Mail Welcome Page that includes a 300 x 250, a new banner at the top of the page, rich media—including floating, expandable and video options—and full targeting options.
An all-star cast of industry leaders will be judging the contest, including Randall Rothenberg, President and CEO of the IAB; Peggy Conlin, President and CEO of the Ad Council; Nancy Hill, President and CEO of AAAA; as well as Beth Lawrence, VP of Agency Development and Strategy, Yahoo! and Brian Hunt, Senior Creative Director, Yahoo!.
The contest launches, today, September 24, and will close for submissions on October 23. The winning campaign will run across Yahoo! beginning November 18.
Create for a Cause was announced today at the ANA Agency/Client Forum at the Grand Hyatt in New York by Yahoo’s Beth Lawrence. Beth also spoke on the topic, “Customer Relevance Meets Creative Execution,” on how advertising continues to transform the way people engage, showcasing some strong creative ideas that are leading the transformation.
